SP4 Pollinator services

Pollinator services in a rubber dominated landscape

The objective is an ecological analysis of diversity and habitat requirements of important insect taxa (especially wild bees) for cultivated crops as well as wild plants. To evaluate the risks for crop production referring to changes in pollinator ecosystem services, landscape sectors with different proportions of rubber plantations and other land use types are studied to record the distribution and activities of the species. Based on these results and on the evaluation of trade-offs between ecological and economic goals, an ecologically sustainable management concept for pollinator ecosystem services will be developed.
